Discover an unusual perspective on how to stop attracting “complicated” people into your life

Are you an empath tired of constantly attracting complicated people into your life? Do you feel drained and exhausted when you have to deal with these people? Today, I want to give you a somewhat unusual perspective on why this might be happening and how you can break this cycle.

(The content in this article has been transcribed from the video.)

All right. Let me get straight to the point. In my work with empaths, I’ve found that the key to stopping the cycle of attracting complicated people into your life is to stop hiding the real you.

I know this may sound like a cliché, but allow me to explain my perspective based on my work with empaths since 2009.

Let me start with this.

According to the Law of Attraction, the energy quality we emit is what we attract back, and this can be especially relevant when it comes to authentic self-expression.

In the context of today’s theme, it means that the longer you hide the real you, the Universe responds by sending more and more “complicated” people into your life. These people may serve as a sort of, as I like to say, “cosmic invitation” to embrace yourself, stop hiding, and start showing up as the real you.

I understand that you’ve felt very different as an empath since your childhood. I understand that you’ve never felt like you belonged anywhere here on Earth. And I understand that under such circumstances, it’s very easy to fall into the trap of hiding the real you in order to fit in, to be liked, or to avoid confrontation. I do understand it very well because I was in the same boat. But when you do that, you’re not being authentic – and you’re not allowing yourself to experience the fullness of life. You may hold back your opinions, hide your passions like I did for many years, or even change the way you behave to please others.

But this kind of self-suppression leads to a feeling of discontent and contributes to attracting people who don’t match with your authentic self.

The Universe is always working to bring us back into alignment with our true nature, and this can sometimes manifest in the form of challenging relationships. By sending “complicated” people into our lives, at least that’s how we tend to perceive such people, the Universe is essentially asking us to take a look at who we are in our essence and how we show up in the world.

I hope this makes sense to you.

So, what can we do to start showing up authentically? First, it’s important to practice self-awareness and take note of the ways in which you might be hiding the real you. Next, you can take small steps towards expressing yourself more openly – whether that means sharing your opinions, pursuing your passions and talking more about them in public, or simply dressing in a way that feels more true to you.

As you begin to show up more and more as a real you, you’ll likely attract more positive, understanding, and supportive people into your life. You may also feel a greater sense of peace and contentment, knowing that you are living in alignment with your true self. You may also experience a higher level of clarity about what you truly want in life because your new way of showing up provides you a leading edge to see your life from a different perspective and understand your purpose and the reason you came here. And I’m pretty convinced that it’s worth it.

And just one more piece of advice.

Throughout my life, I’ve had the privilege of engaging in heartfelt conversations with older people. Surprisingly, these opportunities were more prevalent during my career as a private lawyer than during my coaching work. I found myself creating numerous wills and various contracts for clients who were undoubtedly approaching the final chapters of their lives. For some inexplicable reason, many of them wanted to share their private insights on life and the changes they would make if they were young again and started their life anew. While I’ve been fortunate to hear many unique life stories and perspectives, one prevailing sentiment lingers in my memory: without exception, every one of them told me that their entire lifetime felt like it had passed in the blink of an eye.

Let’s learn from their life experiences. In other words, life is too short, and hiding the real you is a luxury you can’t afford. Because what’s the point of your life? To survive and please others? Or to sing your true song and live the story that is written in your heart? Well, it’s up to you. I invite you to have a good cup of coffee and think about it.
